"The Victorian Junior Football Association met on Friday evening, the president Mr. J. R. Mills in the chair; The report of the deputation appointed by the umpire and permit committee to interview the Carlton ground committee on behalf of the Carlton Junior football club, who have had the use of the Carlton ground since its formation, was received.
It was pointed out by Mr. W. Fawcett that £12 was offered for the use of the ground, the amount paid last season by the Carlton Juniors, but the ground has been given to a much inferior ... ? of club for the sum of £5/5/-. (the last sentence is very difficult to read - Blueseum)
Now the local junior club was forced out of the district, but they have had nevertheless have decided to compete as the Carlton Juniors in the V.J.F.A.
The umpire and permit committee decided to recommend that no match whatever, either practice or combined, should be played against the Carlton football club this season.The secretary was instructed to write to the secretary of the Carlton football club to that effect". (Age April 15 p5)

Norman Gilchrist, aged 25, former Carlton Juniors captain died from a football injury last month. (Argus p17)
The injury occured in a practice match between Port Melbourne and Port Rovers, (another report said Railway United), on Saturday April 20 and he died two day later on Monday, in the Melbourne Hospital.
