Game Review
Carlton won their first match of 1950 by defeating North Melbourne. The Blues were trailing the pacey Kangaroos for the first half and most of the third quarter. As the Northerners tired, Carlton slammed on five quick goals late in the third term. Big man Jack Howell started to dominate in the ruck providing drive with his long kicks.. Ray Garby was moved to centre half forward and Ollie Grieve from full back out to centre half back. Both moves proved successful.
Fred Stafford played well all day in the centre.
