Game Review
In a huge boilover, Carlton bounced back to their best in this game, and destroyed the undefeated ladder-leaders Fitzroy by 57 points at Princes Park. Ken Hands and Fred Davies gave their small men first use of the football throughout the match, and Jack Mills capitalised by booting five goals in a Best on Ground display.Davies was a constant threat up forward for Carlton, where he and the resurgent Keith Warburton hauled in many fine marks. Both finished the game with four goals, as the Blues revived their finals hopes with a dominant last quarter of eight goals to two.
Suddenly, Carlton was back in the hunt – one win outside the top four in eighth, and with a vastly improved percentage of 110.3.
