Chris Challenger played reserve grade football for Carlton in 1963, he also played U/19's football for the Blues in the 1962 and 1963 seasons.

He was selected in the VFL U19's squad to play the South Australian Colts side in Adelaide on the 10th June 1963.

1963 Round 10 vs Melbourne, Chris Challenger all eight goals for the Carlton U/19's match against Melbourne, and he was only named as 4th best player for the Blues.

Wearing the No.1 guernsey, Challenger played on the half-forward flank in the 1963 U/19's Grand Final, in this match he kicked one goal and was named Carlton's best player on the day.

In 1964 Chris Challenger would head to the VFA and play with Coburg where he played 69 games and kicked 70 goals during his stint with the Lions.

He didn't manage to play a senior game for Carlton.
