Game Review
Throughout 1917, the Tigers had sat on the bottom of the VFL ladder. Carlton regularly enjoyed their games with victories in each of the 24 clashes thus far since 1908.But the tables were turned in this game as the Tigers won their second game in a row. At the same time, Carlton had lost their opening two matches in a shaky start to 1918. This was the first time that Richmond had defeated Carlton in the League, Carlton had won their first 24 games.
At the end of this round Carlton were in 6th spot on the ladder with a percentage of 67.5.
