Game Review
Carlton’s three game winning streak was brought to a grinding halt by Geelong for the second time in 1999. This time, though, the game was much closer – but lost in the first quarter when the Cats kicked 8 goals to 3. Carlton were playing catch up football for the remainder of the game but couldn’t quite get there. Matthew Allan continued his rich vein of form, picking up 3 Brownlow Votes for the third week in a row. Unfortunately, it was not enough for the Blues, and their finals position was not yet clear.Carlton remained in 6th position on the ladder, with a percentage of 100.5%.
