Game Review
The win was master minded at training on Thursday night by coach Jim Francis using skittles for players to "show how to beat Collingwood." In drizzling rain and on a slippery ground the Blues played dry weather football. Carlton's ball handling, marking, and kicking was superb. The half forwards, Kerr, Milroy and Beasy dominated. Milroy took five towering marks in the final term. Hands and Clarke controlled the ruck, and James was unbeatable in defence.Carlton coach Jim Francis;
"The play-on game was the secret of our success. We won in all departments, particularly in the rucks. We were also strong across the half forward, centre, and backlines. Carlton is developing into the team I have striven for. It is backing up well our playing fast, non-stop football."Scorers; Donaldson 1.3, Kerr 1.2, Ellis 1.1, Sullivan 1.1, Mills 1.1, Milroy 1.0, Hands 1.0, Bosustow 1.0, Beasy 0.4, Webster 0.1, Gilchrist 0.1, Rushed 2.
Best; James, Zeunert, Kerr, Clarke, Ferry, Hands.
