Game Review
The Essendon Gazette in it's game review mentioned about the games starting late and finishing in the dusk. The paper said it was almost impossible to distingush players and the score board in the fading light. The teams seem to please themselves on starting the match, and the length of breaks. The Gazette said VFL must enforce an earlier start and be strict on the starting times.At the end of this round Carlton were in 1st spot on the ladder with a percentage of 139.4.

Ted Brown
"The decision to move the Bendigo Camp proved a blessing in disguise to the Carlton Club. Brown, who had been unable to get to town owing to the meningitis scare, was, with the rest of his company, moved to Broadmeadows, and obtained the necessary leave to play on Saturday against Fitzroy. This performance was one of the best he has ever shown Carlton; and it is evident that a soldier's life agrees with footballers.
