1881 Playing for South Melbourne

1882 April 29
Bushel is named in the Carlton squad of 20 to play Star of Carlton in a pre season match at Princes oval.
This is the only mention of Bushell found so far, for this year.

1882 May 27
Carlton played South Melbourne at the East Melbourne Cricket Ground.
Bushel playing for South kicked the winning goal and was named among South's better players.

1916 April 11
The Argus reported on a veterans cricket match held on the Brunswick Street Oval, one of the participants was "Tom Bushell the old South Melbourne footballer."

1927 July 27
Thomas James Bushell died at his residence in Kew.
Former South Melbourne player, native of Collingwood, first played with Britannia and Albert Park. (Record July 30 p2)

1928 January 28
The Argus previewing the South Melbourne AGM to be held Monday February 06. The newspaper says the report mentions the death of old player Tom Bushell.

Tom A. Bushell played played 70 - 73 games and kicked 96 goals for South Melbourne 1881 - 90 1892 (Origins of Australian Football Vol. 5)
